Hyperlinks to .DWG file. Suddenly no longer work.

I have a workbook with in excess of 8000 hyperlinks that open .DWG files in an AutoCad package. Previously they worked fine. Hyperlinks that are linked to TXT files still open fine , its just the DWG files. Now I keep getting the warning dialog box "An unexpected error has occurred" I have checked the file path syntax and all is correct. I can go to the respective folder and open the drawing from there, but the hyperlink for some reason will simply no longer work?

Grateful for any advice
