# HYPGEOMDIST problem

##### Well-known Member
Hi to all

I am trying to figure out chances of a "lottery draw" with hypgeomdist function, but it seems I might not understand how it works..

For example
there are 80 numbers
20 are draw
I have selected 3 numbers
what are chances of getting those 3 numbers in 20 out of 80 draw?

Thank you

So, if I understand this correctly, you choose 3 numbers, 20 are drawn out of a total pool of 80 numbers, and you want to figure out the probability of all 3 of your chosen numbers being drawn?

If this is the case, your formula would be:
=HYPGEOMDIST(3,20,3,80)
