.. but im going to ask it anyways!!

Ive tried a million which ways and I cant get it to work.

Heres what I got.

F31 - Test Time Started
F32 - Test Time Completed
F33 - Total Test Time (Auto calculated)

F25 - Initial Cylinder Level (example .0775)
F26 - Final Cylinder Level (example .0750)
F27 - Leak Volume (Auto calculated from Inital minus Final. example using above numbers is -.0025))

F28 - Calculated GPH Leak Volume (Gallons per hour)

F28 is what Im having the problem figuring out. 90% of our test times will be a half hour (which is the minimum), but occasionally it runs above that. Id like to toss an equation in there so that if it goes above that half hour, the calculation will still work.

It also has to use an IF or similar formula to keep the cell "blank" if there is no data present to calculate.

If anyone can help out, Id be very very very grateful, and owe yet another deep thank you to this great board!

Excel Facts

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
If F33 is an Excel Serial Time (the normal), then it has a unit of Days.

To calculate the GPH leak value, I would use =F27/F33*24

Assuming F27 is in gallons.

F27 is in decimal format. Like the example I gave of -.0025

Your formula is what I was trying, but F28 (where the formula goes) needs to be in the same decimal format as F25, 26, 27.

I get -5.76 for your formula with 11:30 and 12:00 in the time started and finished, and .0800 and .0775 in the cylinder levels

I would put
=F32-F32 in F33
=F26-F25 in F27

and my above formula in F28.

(I wasn't talking about the formatting of F27, but the units of the value entered.)
