I have seen this question a lot here in the forum, how to create a watertext in Excel, I have discovered a way that works great in Excel 2007, so here it goes:
Here’s how to mimic a watertext in Excel 2007.
1. On the insert tab select text box.
2. Draw the text box.
3. Set the font and size you wish to use.
4. Type in the word you wish to use (Paid, Confidential, or whatever).
5. Center text Vertical and Horizontal.
6. Resize the text box so that it is not much larger than the text.
7. Right click inside the text box, select Format Shape, a dialog box will appear, select No Fill.
8. Click close.
9. Double click on the word you typed in the text box.
10. Right click inside the text box and select Format Text Effects, click on Text Fill, change color if you wish then set Transparency to 75%, click on close button.
11. If you wish to rotate it click and hold the mouse button on the Green circle above the text box and rotate Left or Right and you are done.
