Hi,

I'm new to this so don't really know how this works or if anyone will be able to help.

I'm sure this is a really simple formula but if you don't know then you don't know and unfortunately I'm most definately in that catagory.

I have nearly 6,000 items to sort through and get the descriptions down to 24 characters or less (including spaces). I need a formula that will tell me in one cell how many characters and spaces are in another cell. Otherwise I'm counting them by hand.

Can anyone please help me with this request,

If not then thank's for your time and I'll see you in a couple of months when I've finished counting,

Cheers,

Andy.

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Thank You so much
