Is there a way to have more than 5 icon sets in a spreadsheet? I believe the amount is 4 max. I am looking to create icon sets for a project plan with the following

Green - On Track
Yellow - Delayed
Red - At Risk
Black - Complete
Blue - Not Started

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Excel has a few sets of 5 built in, but none with the color scheme you have in mind. What you could do is just pick a Unicode character in the shape you want (such as this one ⬤), put in in your cell, and use regular conditional formatting to change the font color.

2Delayed
3At Risk
4Complete
5Not Started

A1:B5Expression=IF($B1="At Risk",1,0)textNO
A1:B5Expression=IF($B1="Delayed",1,0)textNO
A1:B5Expression=IF($B1="On Track",1,0)textNO

Hi,
Thanks for helping me with this. Can this be completed as a drop down where the user would select as an example 'Not Started' and it would return the blue unicode character?

Not really. You can have a data validated dropdown with the text descriptions, but as far as I know there's no native way to add formatting to the drop downs. You would end up with a drop down with all of the dots the same color.
