Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.

What exactly are you looking to accomplish with these icon sets? Could you provide a little more information and some sample data?

what i would like to do is on text value of either yellow, red, green to have the stop light type icons represent those values. hope i explained it ok and thanks...

You'll have to convert them to a value in the cell you want the icon set in. Using an If Statement should work. If(A1="Green",3,If(A1="Yellow",2,1)) and then set up your Icon set so that Green >=3, Red <2.
