Hi there.

I need a way to identify cells in a column that contain single characters amongst the contents. To be clear, I'm looking for alphanumeric characters that appear as a lone character surrounded by spaces, within a string of text.

Sample hits look like this:

S Main St
Santa Monica E
Great N Boulevard
Minnesota /2 E

The single characters could occur anywhere in the string.

Any way of identifying these is fine. AutoFilter would work, a formula in a helper column, or even VBA (though that's a last resort as I'm working on a Mac). I've got 10,000+ rows, so eyeballing these isn't a viable option.

Thanks!

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
You could use the autofilter, select Contains & use * ? *
