Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way in Excel, to identify consecutive number strings in a column? What I want to do is have a ‘1’ in column FV whenever the 4-digit string in ‘FU’ is made up of 4 consecutive numbers. i.e. 0123, 1234, 2345 etc. When this is not the case I would like the cell to appear empty (“”). I have included a screenshot of my columns below:

The string in FU is always 4 digits, as it is made up of the minutes / seconds components of a time field.

Thanks in advance!

Olly.

Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
