I have been searching the boards for hours. I am looking to identify duplicate accounts based on the text in a different column. I can't just sort and remove duplicates as it will delete "active" accounts. Some accounts are active in multiple rows. I had to create a sample sheet as the data is sensitive and could not be shared. From the example below, I need to identify that Scotia Bank has both "Account" and "Firm" and then delete the "Firm" but keep both the account lines.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
You could add a third column that concat's the other 2 and then filter the third column to delete the duplicates.

Excel Formula:
=CONCATENATE(A1,"-",B1)

Solution
Thank you. That might actually work. I will try on the main sheet and report back.
