I have an inspection report I am creating in Excel that uses multiple work sheets. one sheet is the note section of an inspection where i can list the issues found, I have a column with a drop down list of codes (data validation list). On a different sheet there is a list of the codes in certain spots I want to search the fist sheet for a code that matches the 2nd sheet and if it is found than put an "X" in a cell next to the respective code. essentially i am looking for a =IF(Insepction!$I$4:$I$124=Report!A8,"x","")

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
How about
Excel Formula:
=IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH(A8,Insepction!$I$4:$I$124,0)),"x","")
