Welcome to the forum,

You need to use Conditional Formatting and the Formula

Highlight the Column

=H1>NOW() (Make sure you don't get the $ signs)

Then select your colour

Try Conditional Formatting

=$H1>=TODAY()

Excel Workbook
ABCDEFGH
113/11/2011
214/11/2011
315/11/2011
416/11/2011
517/11/2011
Sheet1

Dabamaru:

use this in conditional formatting
under "Use a formula to determine which cells to format"

=AND($H1<=TODAY(), $H1<>"")
after hitting format >> do your formatting >> hit ok >> Ok
now in "applies to" filed select your entire range of columns like
=$A:$Z

this is for Excel 2007, and is helpful even when the H column doesnt have any value in it
