My question is: What is wrong with this formula? It only ever shows what is in I2. The answer is in the J column below.



=IF(AND(I2>=E2,I2<=E2),E2,I2)

I want Cell J2 show E2 … $615

Hi & welcome to MrExcel.
That formula will only return the value from E2 when I2 & E2 are equal.
What exactly are you trying to do?

This a rental worksheet. The rent is $615. If they pay less than $615 which will be in I2 I want that to show is J2. If they pay more than $615 I want the $615 to show in I2 because the extra will be water, well, not necessarily, it could be past due rent in which case I want that in the total. OK...I need to think about this more. This will not help me. Do you know how do I delete a thread? BTW...thank you for getting back to me so quickly!
