Hello, A beginner here so be gentle!

In my spreadsheet I need to see if a word appears in column B2 ("Corresp") and a "Y" in D2, If both appear I need "MO1698" to appear in F2. If only one appears there should be NO change. I can get them to show individually but when I try to combine them I get errors and can't sort it. Excel help suggests If/And combinations. Can anyone suggest something? Thanks in advance. David

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN

What do you mean there should be NO change, you can't have a formula and literal text in the same cell, it would take VBA for that.

If you mean you just want it to appear blank, then:
=IF(AND(B2="Corresp",D2="Y"),"MO1968","")

Scott - thanks for your quick response. Sorry I wasn't clear enough. I did have that formula but the box the formula is in is NOT in the box MO1968 should be quoted in so the formula needs to print the result in that box so, for example, the formula will be in V2 but needs to show the result in F2. I hope this is clear enough. David

Why can't you put the formula in both places or in F2, put =V2
