hi,

I need to set a criteria so if A1>0 and c1="control" then e1 =1

Thinking it would be:-

=if(a1>0,and(c1="control",1,"")) but that does not work ;{

thank you for your help.

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Hi Trevor,

Code:
=IF(AND(A1>0,C1="Control"),1,"")

For robustness sake...

=IF(ISNUMBER(A1),IF(AND(A1>0,C1="control"),1,""),"")

assuming that A1 is a non-zero number as a prerequisite.
