Only one cell will contain a number at any time.

The formula needs to incorporate these four rules;

If A3 contains a number, then return the value of A1.
If B3 contains a number, then return the value of B1.
If C3 contains a number, then return the value of C1.
If D3 contains a number, then return the value of D1.

Any help appreciated.

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
What version of Excel are you using?

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

Thanks for that, how about
Excel Formula:
=FILTER(C1:G1,C3:G3<>"")

You should only get that error if either the ranges are not the same size, or you have a #value! error in one of the cells.
