Maybe...

=IF(AND(A8>0,A8<=100000),25,IF(AND(A8>100000,A8<=500000),50,IF(AND(A8>500000,A8<=50000000),100,"THE FIGURE IS ZERO (or below) OR GREATER THAN 50000000")))

Guessing a bit because you have a stray 1000 in your post and you don't state exactly what you want the code to do.

Because the syntax in your formula is wrong. See if this is closer

=IF(AND(A8>0,A8<=100000),25,IF(AND(A8>100000,A8<=500000),50,IF(AND(A8>500000,A8<=50000000),100,">50000000")))

Edit: Oops, actually, I think this is effectively the same as Mark's in post 2
