Hello,

Please help me build a formula for calculating flat % of commission if certain conditions applies: I would like to calculate commission if both column A and B condition applies. For example: If column A has "Renewal", then no commission, otherwise 3% flat commission on column B amount.

commission rate: 3%

Sales Agent Name
AmountSales Commission
Renewal
17.99
$0.00

<colgroup><col><col><col></colgroup><tbody>
</tbody>
ABC 17.99 $.54

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
You say 'both column A and B conditions but then column B is an amount you use in the calculation.
In the example you use only one condition, what is the 2nd condition?
In general you can write formula as
=IF(AND(condition1,condition2),calculation if both conditions are met, calculation otherwise)
so for instance
=IF(AND(A4<>"Renewal",B4>1000),3%*B4,0)
