Morning,

I need some assistant please. I have a formula looking to break down the weighting of the below table 1.4% pt movement.

My logic was to weight movement for example the 4.2% over the movement of Gregg to James (in this case is (6.7%) and then apply that weighitng to the 1.4%.

What I want to make sure off if the total movment has positives and negatives in the the argument in the formula returns the right mix in the category. For Example Gregg and Tom show a positive and the other three show a negative, so overall it reconciles back to the +1.4%.

Hope that makes sense.

Your help would be great.

 CY LY % Movement Gregg 59.1% 54.9% 4.2% Tom 42.9% 42.0% 0.9% Peter 41.1% 42.4% (1.3%) Phil 23.6% 31.8% (8.2%) James 42.6% 45.0% (2.4%) 48.0% 46.6% 1.4%

Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
To be honest I don't quite understand your question, but if I calculate the CY and LY averages: these are 41.9% and 43.2% respectively.
The associated % movement is -1.4%.
