Hiya

I'm hoping the following is possible:

I have lists called animation, film and photography

I want the if to look at cell A1 if A1 = ANI then allow user to choose from drop down animation, if A1 =FIP then allow use to choose from drop down Film.

Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
1. Make 2 named lists. Name one FIP and the other ANI.
2. Select the cell you would like to insert the drop down
3. Go to the Data tab in your ribbon and select Data Validation.
4. In the settings tab of the data validation window, select "List" in the "Allow" drop down box.
5. In the Source use the following formula:
=Indirect($A$1)
