If function with dates

Sir,

I am working on some project wherein I have to compare some dates.... But whenever I use comparative operator in dates which are nested in if function... I'm always getting wrong results. I have cheked doubly that my dates are not text. For example my function is =if(01/04/2021<A1, "Not applicable", " Applicable")
