Here's what would like to do.

a5=5
a6=2

I want it so it finds which is the larger number, and color it in red

There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Highlight the cells, then navigate

Home > conditional formatting > Top/Bottom Rules > Top 10 Items

Change the Left box to 1, then set the right box to your desired format, use custom if needed.
