I am trying to get this formula to work but cannot understand my error. I would appreciate any help. It was fine until I add the search for Customer. Thanks.

IF(ISERROR(D28="Customer","Customer",(VLOOKUP(O28,CRISMSTR!$B$392:$R$7572,14,FALSE))),"No Data",(D28="Customer","Customer",(VLOOKUP(O28,HRISMSTR!$B$392:$R$7572,14,FALSE)))

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
I want the formula to look for the term "Customer" and display it if there, else lookup the code or identifier in the field here, CRISMSTR!$B$392:$R$7572,14, if one is there, otherwise simply tell me that the field is empty and thus No Data. Help?

Try (untested)

Code:
=IF(D28="Customer","Customer",IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(O28,CRISMSTR!$B$392:$R$7572,14,FALSE)),ISERROR(VLOOKUP(O28,HRISMSTR!$B$392:$R$7572,14,FALSE)),"No Data"))
