I have a spreadsheet which hold the footfalls for a number of properties what I would like to do is apply a weighting score depending on where the footfall falls in the banding below.

Excel 2010
GH
10Footfall bandfootfall weighting
11
120 - 500,00010
13500,001 - 1,000,00030
141,000,001 - 2,000,00040
152,000,001 - 3,000,00050
163,000,001 - 4,000,00060
174,000,001 - 5,000,00070
185,000,001 - 6,000,00080
196,000,001 - 7,000,00090
207,000,001 - 8,000,000100
218,000,001 - 9,000,000150

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
This looks like a perfect use of a VLOOKUP with the "TRUE" modifier.

Try:

Excel 2010
ABCDEF
1Footfall BandFootfall Weighting
2010Footfall Band1235686
350000130Footfall Weighting40
4100000140
5200000150
6300000160
7400000170
8500000180
9600000190
107000001100
118000001150
129000001175
