I want to find a way to sort 1 spreadsheet into 2 spreadsheets based upon what is contained in the category column. If it contains 'cat' I want all those lines to go into the first spreadsheet. If it contains " " (nothing ) I want it to go onto the second spreadsheet. How would one go about doing that? Thanks guys.

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
Have you tried AutoFiltering your data for the 2 criteria and copying the visible rows to the appropriate sheet?

Ok well its actually a little different than I thought. If the column contains CAT it has to go on one spreadsheet. If it contains anything else it goes to the second spreadsheet. Any suggestions?( I am creating a macro out of this)
