IF Statement based on 4th character

I would like to automatically populate column E in my spreadsheet using an if formula which bases the output on the 4th character of the text in column A

For example if column a contains the following PRS2AH34Q column E will then automatically be populated with "GRIP 2"
If column a contains PRS3AH34Q column E would contain "GRIP 3"

Any ideas appreciated
