"If statement" confusion...

i am using this formula which is working good but now i am confused with lots of IFs.

IF(H2="KB",IF(AND(D2<=TIME(7,34,0),E2>=IF(C2="Thursday",TIME(12,30,0),TIME(16,15,0))),"Ontime","Late"),IF(AND(D2<=TIME(8,15,0),E2>=IF(C2="Thursday",TIME(12,30,0),TIME(16,0,0))),"Ontime","Late"))

But now i have few more parameters

1. I want to check A2 for these two names only "Robert", & "Brian". if found then for them only D2 time starts from 7:00 to 16:00 & for Thursday 7:00 to 12:30.

2. If H2="KP", then timings totally change from 8:00 to 12:30 & again 16:00 to 20:00 except for Thursday from 08:00 to 12:30

3. if H2="KH" then timings are from 8:00 to 14:45.

It's unclear if all of the additional parameters should be applied to Robert and Brian, or just the first one. Also exactly which times in criteria 2 relate to what in the existing formula, I think I can see what is correct there, but it's easier to clarify first.

can easily eliminate any confusion and prevent any combination of person / start time being missed in the formula.

Should that be "change from 8:15 to 12:30"? This is the part I can't make any sense out of.

As far as timings are concerned

KP has from 8:00 to 12:30 & again from 16:00 to 20:00.

Thursday is considered special day so timings are from 8:00 to 12:30

By far, the easiest way to achieve what you need would be with a lookup table, but having a second set of timings for KP will cause problems with that.

Is it possible to redefine one of those? For example, use KP for 08:00 start and KP2 for 16:00?

There's nothing in that file that hasn't now been verified within the thread.

A suggested method has already been provided in post #7, which will work with your data IF you are willing to accept the suggested change of the second KP to KP2.

Without such a change there is no practical way to determine which start and finish times to compare to, unless there is absolutely no risk of a single visit spanning both timeslots.
