I want a formula in X11 to look at text in K11 and if it matches text I have in a table ranging from BG11 to BG65, then to return the result of the corresponding cell in Column BH.

For example: Text in K11 matches text in BG13. K11 should then display the value present in BH13 and so the answer should be 81.

K X BG BH
11 Dan ? Nigel 57

sorry, I tried to draw a table but the formatting once posted ruined it

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Try a VLOOKUP:

=VLOOKUP(K11,BG11:BH65,2,0)

Thanks Kowz, very useful. V-LOOKUP, I'll remember that one.
