I know you can only nest 7 IF statements in a standard formula

My question is, How can i do more?

TIA

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)

Could you explain your requirements? Different circumstances might lead to different solutions.

You can usually use a LOOKUP instaed or possibly the CHOOSE function, but as Peter says, it depends on your own particular circumstances.

I have 22 clients, which all have a corresponding 'Client ID'

This client ID is retrieved from a Database, & saved in Excel format

So, What i'm after doing is a monster IF Statement which contains 22 IF's?

Is this possible?

I honestly dont have a clue, As (i think) the most IF's i've ever used is 6

TIA

use a vlookup - search the board for examples, review helps file for instructions on its use, post back if you can't get it sorted...

What do you want to do involving the IFs? Return a client ID given some other value? What's the other value? Is a VLOOKUP appropriate here?

What do you actually want to do?

What is the purpose of this IF statement?

If you give us more information we can give you more help.

Sorry, I'll elaborate

I basically want to adapt the IF statement to include the other 22 options

Etc as below

Code:
=IF(A2=10,"Halifax",IF(A2=12,"BBG",""))

So why not use a VLOOKUP?

And why not give us some more information?:)
