Hi There, Not sure if this is possible but can I create a formula that if cell A1 is blank b1 = 'No Owner' but if the cell is not blank b1 would have to = 'In progress' or 'completed'?

Does this work:

=IF(A1="","No Owner","In progress or completed")

Yeh, sorry that won't work. if A1= blank b1 = 'No Owner' but if the cell is not blank b1 would have to = 'In progress' or 'completed'?

Not quite. If the cell is not blank I want to be able to select 'In progress' or 'Complete not have written 'In progress or Complete'. I think I need to use data validation but I am not sure how to write the formula.

select B1...ALT + D + L .... select list from the drop down....in the source box put....no owner,inprogress or completed and click ok
make sure you have the choices separated with a comma
