I'm glad you guys are here and so willing to help. I think there is a fairly straightforwar solution to this but I have come against a wall somehow, so I'll ask you experts for some help( again) if you don't mind.I hope I can put this so it's clear enough.Thanks in advance!

I have a sheet where in column A, an entry can be made only by choosing from a dropdown using a list(Code_List) found in column AA1.
In column AB1 I identify which of these codes are "routine" and in column AC1 I identify which are "nonroutine".
Now, in in cell d1 for example I am calculating c1-b1. If cell a1 contains a selection from the dropdown list that corresponds with any routine code listed in column AB1, I need the result of c1-b1 to appear on cell d1. if it is a code that corresponds with a code from column AC1(nonroutine) I need the result to appear in cell E1.
