Ignoring blank cells or zero values when using a formula

I have a speadsheet and I want the formulas to calculate based on 34 rows. However, frequently there will not be data in some of those rows. I want the formula to ignore the blank cells. Right now, if I leave the cells blank I receive #N/A. Is there something that I can add to this formula so that it does not rank the blank cells? There are other

=RANK(B2,B$2:B$34)+COUNTIF(B$2:B2,B2)-1
