Ignoring blank cells with a Vlookup

Afternoon peeps,

Is there a way of making a vlookup ignore an empty cell? At the moment it returns a "0", which then throws out a conditional format I have in place.

I'd be delighted if it would just return an empty cell. Any help will be warmly received

=IF(VLOOKUP(...)=0,"",VLOOKUP(...))
