I'm logged in but cannot reply to own post

I have a thread on the go in the Excel forum. I see that I have a reply and log in. But when I go to my thread to respond to the update, I cannot post a reply as it thinks I am not logged in. So I go and log in again and this scenario just repeats itself e.g. today I have tried to login in three times (I am logged-in now obviously) but as soon as I go to my thread it treats me as not logged in. I also have a message that says I have failed to log in 3 times and only have two attempts left.

Is there some 'magic' setting that I need to apply?
 
Are you checking the 'Remember me' option when you log in?
