I'm stuck on a percentage formula

For the life of me. i can't work out a formula to work out what 5% is of £ 15,434.67
can anybody help ?

try..

=15434.67*.05

worked perfectly. it even works with cell referrence ie; =D61*0.05

thanks for your help, at least i'll get my figures in before close of business today !
