import data from txt files

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
As a somewhat newbie to Excel myself I can relate to the dilemma by the poster. However, I can attest to the fact that this board is for "HELP when stumped" not "do it for me." You can never learn without trying it yourself first. My two cents.

That is true, it is tough to find someone to start from scratch and simply do the work.

One step at a time...you can use the macro recorded (Tools>Macro>Record macro)

to record the code that does the import. In many cases that code can be modified to help you out, but you kind a gotta start somwhere.

Since we do not know
1) How many text files
2) What format the text files are in (comma delimited, fixed width) etc
3) The format they need to be in excel

etc

it is very difficult, as there is no "blanket" code for something like this.
