I have attempted a number of combinations of copying / pasting / appending Excel data into a table in Access. I've tried copying just the specific Excel range, the entire rows with the data, and the entire worksheet. When trying to get it into Access, I've tried Paste, Paste Special (as text), Paste Append. The 2 error messages I have been receiving are (1) The value you entered isn't valid for this field., and (2) The text is too long to be edited.

The source data in Excel is in exactly the same format (by field), and each record is of exactly the same type. (A weekly file is imported.)

Any suggestions as to an alternate method for getting the data into Access from Excel, or, suggestions for where to look to resolve the error messages I've received?
Thanks.

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
While this worked (i.e. the data was imported into a new table), what's the key (mechanism) to pasting (appending) this data into the existing table that has all my previous data in it?

Can't you just select the existing table from the dropdown on step 3 (?) of the import wizard?

After importing the Excel spreadsheet, you create a new query, based on that new table and after selecting the fields you want (testing for correct results), you turn your query into an Append Query and point to the table you want to add the new data to.
