Importing from Quickbooks

I have a sheet in a workbook where I want to store data imported from Quickbooks. I also want to be able to update that sheet periodically. My workbook will be used by a "non-excel" user so I created a user dashboard. The workbook is set to open with all sheets (except Dashboard) hidden. When I try to update an existing sheet from Quickbooks, I canot select the destination sheet because it is hidden and does not display in the option list. Is there a way for me to tell Excel to unhide the sheet when it is being opened by another application and then hide it again after the update?

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
