I am trying to import an HTML file into Excel.
When imported it does not keep its consistency. ie: it puts the data into different columns
e.g. It is a debtors day file. It puts the '30 days' in column D in one section and column H in another.
It seems to change when the HTML file has a new page.

I have tried a utility called filemerlin, but with no luck

Any ideas?

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Nicky welcome to the forum,

Which version of MS Office are you using? Have you looked at using the Data Menu and New Web Query if using Excel 2003
Data Tab and From Web if using Excel 2007 or above.

I think its because the data is parsing. Here's how to turn that off. Select a few vertical cells. Choose Data_text to columns, then choose next, then uncheck all the delimiters.

Excel will remember the last-used delimters when you paste data, so if you paste in your web page now it should go into one column.
