Can anybody explain why when Importing a Text File with Numbers beginning with the letter E for example E106, Excel then converts this number to an exponential figure? How can this be stopped? What do I need to do in order that the imported text file keeps the number E106?

Thanks in anticipation

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Choose Text as the column type. Note that if this is a CSV extensioned file, you won't be given the wizard so you can't pick. Change the file's extension to TXT and you'll get the wizard and a chance to configure column types.
