In ActiveX-controls group there are a lot of controls in the "Other Controls" group. How safe is it to use a control from there?

I am confident using the ActiveX controls which are visible in the menu by default, but I see some pretty nice options when i search for all the other controls in the "Other Controls" group.

Are they fully supported just like the ones I see in the controls group by default ? Or is there any risk using them?
So my question is it the same level of security (compability etc)
- for the controls which are visible by default
and the controls I see in the "Other controls" group?

It seems to me that btw a lot of them are broken and can not be inserted.

Thank you very much, have a nice day

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
I am still little stucked with this one, if anybody has an idea would be great, thank you very much, have a nice day

The biggest issue you'll have is that they may not be available on other machines. So you may find that your workbook doesn't work if you send it to someone or try to use it on another computer

Best to avoid activex generally unless you have a particular need for them.

and on userform you can not use any other activex control just those few, so these "other controls" would have advantage only on worksheet.

Thank you very much, clean to me now.

Sorry, I missed that you're talking about the worksheet - as Rory hints, avoid like the plague.

You can use additional controls on userforms
