In Excel, When adding different segments of Time . . .

For instance =SUM(CL10:OFFSET(CL48,-1,0))(used when adding a column (cl10:cl48). . . but what do you use when adding two columns here, skip a column, add two more, etc . . .? The problem comes in where in that column that is skipped is another value, like a letter or number.

EXAMPLE: =SUM(BR32:OFFSET(CL32,-1,0))Columns BR,BU,BX,CA,CD,CG and CJ have a letter in them.
