In Vlookup formula column index on left side of lookup value

What i have to put in "column index" in vlookup formula if column index is on the left hand side of "lookup value" in "table array".

For example i am looking for part number 111000 "color". If in the table color is on the left hand side of the part number 111000 in "table array". what i will put in column index in vlookup formula. I know when column index on next column we put positive 2,3,4 & etc

VLOOKUP cannot look left. You need to use INDEX/MATCH http://www.contextures.com/xlFunctions03.html
