In what version were INDEX and VLOOKUP introduced?

In what Excel version were INDEX and VLOOKUP introduced?

I think the reason VLOOKUP is more widely known thant INDEX - MATCH must be because it is older. Does anyone remember in what Excel version they were introduced?

Visicalc in 1979 had lookup, not sure if it was improved in Excel Version 1 (Mac - 1985) or much later. VBA wasn't added until 1993 I think.

At about 3:03 in the video Bill says that VLOOKUP appeared soon after in Lotus 1-2-3 (which more people have heard of than VisiCalc).
