I have a worksheet where I can select an employee name in cell A1 (drop down list) and simply want to show the employee's manager name in A2.
I have the employee list on another sheet called "Menus" in cells E2:E48 and their corresponding manager list is next to it in cells G2:G48 (I have column F as a spacer)
When I select the employee in A1, I simply want Excel to go get the corresponding Manager's name in the "Menus" worksheet and bring it into cell A2 below the employee.
My current formula in A2 looks like this:
=INDEX(MATCH(A1,Menus!E2:E48,0)7
(7 at the end represents the column of the Manager list)
I currently see #REF! - not sure what I am doing wrong. Please advise. Thank you in advance.
