# Index / Match

#### The Grim Discovery

##### Board Regular
 Animal Phobic Rat Yes Snake No Spider Unknown Scorpion Rat ? Snake Rat ? Spider

<tbody>
</tbody>

Hello, how do I get all instances in Col A of 'Rat' to show in Col B as "yes"? This needs to be dynamic as the Col B could also be "no". I suppose I'm asking how can value in Col A have its associated value in Col B repeated wherever it is found? I'm INDEX/MATCHING myself to a standstill.

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
How are you determining that the first value for "Rat" is actually "Yes" ?
Are you just manually typing this into Col B ?
Or is this information held somewhere else ? (this would be my preferred solution I think)
