# Indirect Formula

Is there a way of using the indirect formula to reference other work sheet tabs that have been named with spacing between the words? At the min I have to use an underscore between words where the spaces would be.

Many thanks

### Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.

Hi,

Yes you can do that Note in the formula the apostrophes. These are needed when there's a space in the worksheet name but don't stop the formula working if the is no space.

Sheet name in a1

=INDIRECT("'" & A1 &"'!B1")
