Every time I open my workbook I get this error 4 or 5 times. If I just click OK it seems to work, but worried I've done something that might be a problem as it grows. The error message says if you see it again "create a new data source to connect to the database". I've no idea what that means as has taken me 2 months to build my Powerpivot object and associated pivot tables.

Should I be worried and can I do anything about it?

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Do you get any errors when refreshing your tables or just when opening the workbook?
I've had my refreshes fail because I'm linked to an Excel file that refreshes and shows PowerPivot different names than it was setup with.
Perhaps your connection is somehow accessing and older instance of the data?
I would check under your connections to see how many are there.
I think it has something to do with the source.
If SQL server, perhaps talk to the admin for that.

When I open it says "reading data" and error pops up twice. If I refresh right at the end I get 2 errors again. Under data connection I have 1 powerpivot connection and 2 other connections that are for pulling down a whole table using the evaluate function (if I click on these and refresh no errors). Oddly if I click on the powerpivot conenction and hit refresh I dont get errors!!! Bizarre!
