Simple excel spreadsheet which i wish to insert into a simple word document. Use Insert - File and select file to insert. Then get a dialogue box saying 'select the encoding that makes your document readable'

There are 3 options to choose from :-
Windows (default)
MS Dos
Other encoding

Choosing any of these just renders the spreadsheet totally unreadable. By the way, i chose Western European for other encoding.

Is this a known problem ?

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
HiTinsel,

Unsure as to what you want to exactly acheive.
but you could try opening your Excel spreadsheet
& pressing the "Prt Sc - Sys Req" key , open your Word
document & right click & select paste.

This will input into your Word document the spreadsheet
as you see it on your PC.

Hope this assists you :)

I have now used the Insert - Object - Create from file option and this has worked fine.

Thanks.
