Interactive diagrams?

I once built a logic gate simulator in Excel4, and I can't find it now, but it's probably time to build it in VBA instead.

Has anyone done this already? Can anyone point me to instructions on scaling connections between shapes?

Also, I'm thinking about making a small flowcharter and decision tree generator to run off my decison tables and also decomposition tool that works much like the commercial "B-liner" application, but keeping it within a workbook so I can do arithmetic or logic in both directions (not just upstream). Again, the scaling looks to be a challenge.

Can anyone suggest some example for me to learn from?

Hi Mike,

I'm not sure I know what you mean by "scaling" connections between shapes. Are you using connector-type lines to connect your shapes? These attach to the "grab points" on the shapes and so automatically adjust when the shapes are moved or resized to keep the shapes connected. See the Connectors item on the AutoShapes menu of the Drawing toolbar.

That is exactly what I mean. Thank you. I haven't started building my own shapes yet. (Is there a library?) I was looking for an already built example, like an organization chart or something that changes configuration, so I don't have to start directly from scratch.

It looks like it may take me a couple of weeks to figure out the basics, but I will post the results when I get it done.

I don't have any examples of building org charts in VBA, or anything similiar. I've only used these manually. Hopefully, someone else on this board will volunteer an example or two.

Wow! Thanks for the list of Autoshapes. I've actually found these shapes before, there was a list in a book on the Windows API and they also show up in the Object Browser, but it's cool to have a quick list like this.

I did a basic flowcharter using VISIO and VB4 a number of years ago, and had to build my own shape objects. It's nice to have them as part of MS Office.
